Find answers to common questions about admissions, academics, and cadet life
Admissions at PN Cadet College Ormara for Class VIII typically open in the last week of July. The induction process begins in the first week of August with the release of the admission forms and instructions. The computer-based entrance test (e-test) is conducted in early September at designated Pakistan Navy Recruitment & Selection Centres. Shortlisted candidates are then called for interviews and preliminary medical examinations in November. The final merit list is announced in January, and successful candidates are required to report to the college in the first week of April to commence the academic session.
Seats are reserved for candidates from various divisions and districts of Balochistan, based on the applicant's domicile or local-area certificate. These include Kalat, Rakhshan, Loralai, Naseerabad, Sibi, Zhob, and Quetta Division, including Quetta City. Additionally, Makran Division, including Ormara Tehsil and Lasbela District, are also eligible under the reserved quota. It is essential that applicants correctly select their respective division on the application form, as any mismatch between the selected quota and the actual domicile will lead to disqualification of the application.
Each year, a total of 25 seats are offered under the Self-Finance Scheme. Cadets selected under this scheme are required to pay approximately PKR 535,000 per annum, which covers tuition, boarding, lodging, and other essential facilities. In contrast, P-Cadets, who are selected on merit from all provinces, including Balochistan (except those eligible as N-Cadets), pay a subsidized fee of approximately PKR 395,000 per annum. The difference in fees reflects the government subsidy extended to P-Cadets.
Yes, Pre-Medical is available at PN Cadet College Ormara for students entering at the HSSC level (Class XI), and it is offered under both the Paying Cadet and Self-Finance schemes. Upon successful completion of F.Sc. Pre-Medical, cadets may apply to any recognized medical college in Pakistan. However, it is important to note that N-Cadets are not allowed to opt for the Pre-Medical stream and must choose other academic tracks.
For Class VIII entry, the syllabus is based primarily on the Class VII curriculum from Punjab and Balochistan Textbook Boards, along with elements from the Federal Board (FBISE). For candidates applying for Class XI, the test content follows the Class X syllabus of the FBISE. In both cases, the test may include additional unseen questions focused on logical reasoning, basic mathematics, and general analytical skills aligned with the respective academic level of the applicants.
N-Cadet seats are reserved for students who are permanent residents of Balochistan, possess a valid local certificate, and have completed their education from Class I to VII in an institution located within Balochistan. Their education at PN Cadet College Ormara is fully sponsored, and they are required to apply for commission in the Pakistan Navy upon completing their intermediate education. P-Cadets, on the other hand, may belong to any province including Balochistan (except those eligible for N-Cadet status), are selected purely on merit, and pay a subsidized annual fee. They are not bound to apply for the Pakistan Navy, although many do choose that path.
PN Cadet College Ormara is located on the Makran Coastal Highway in Ormara, Balochistan, approximately 360 kilometers west of Karachi. The journey typically takes five to six hours by road. Most cadets and visitors travel to Ormara using local bus services, private vehicles, or coordinated transport. The road infrastructure is well-maintained, and travel is considered safe. During official leave or return days, the college often facilitates ferry or coordinated transport arrangements, depending on the availability of naval resources.
Cadets enrolled at PN CCO have the opportunity to apply for Pakistan Navy or other armed forces in their second year (Class XII). They apply through the regular selection process using a Hope Certificate issued by the college. Although they compete like any civilian candidate, cadets from PN CCO are given extensive ISSB guidance, personality grooming, and physical fitness training under the supervision of their House Masters and instructors. This environment significantly increases their chances of success, and PN CCO maintains a strong track record of cadets being inducted into the armed forces.
Yes, Ormara is exceptionally safe, particularly because PN Cadet College Ormara is situated within the secure premises of Jinnah Naval Base. The base is guarded by the Pakistan Navy's 6th FP Battalion, which ensures round-the-clock protection and security of the institution. Since the establishment of the college, there have been no reported security issues or incidents, and all necessary safety protocols are strictly followed to ensure the well-being of cadets and staff.
At present, Ufone and Telenor are the two mobile network operators that provide coverage in Ormara. While the signal strength may vary slightly in different areas, overall connectivity is stable for both voice and internet services. The college also provides internet access through its IT infrastructure for educational purposes.
